ABOUT NICHOLE

I am a proud New Mexican, South Los Altos resident, and mom of Aaliyah (15) and Elijah (5). Throughout my career, I’ve been privileged to work with community members, business leaders, healthcare workers, non-profits, and the City of Albuquerque to actualize a vision of support and well-being for those who live in our city.

I’m running for city council to center the voices of my community and to develop tangible solutions to the challenges our district is facing so that everyone can thrive and belong.

Together we can make history by electing the first African-American Woman to City Council. I stand on the shoulders of Dr. Solomon Brown who was the first appointed African-American Man, who served between August 1977-November 1977.

NICHOLE’S FAMILY

I stand on the shoulders of a long line of public servants. From my father, Bernard, who is a former police officer and long-time business owner, to my mother, Vanessa, an early childhood educator, all the way to my grandfather Bob Baca who served honorably as New Mexico’s State Fire Marshal. As a Black and Hispanic single mother of two, my heritage and culture mean the world to me and give me a unique lens that helps me to think critically and be solutions-oriented. I will fight to help your family navigate systems just as I help my own family so we all have what we need to thrive, not just survive.
